ESR Johanna Mielke awarded PhD with highest honours

IDEAS ESR Johanna Mielke has successfully defended her thesis and has been awarded her PhD “summa cum laude” (“with greatest honour”) by Dortmund Technical University.

Based at Novartis in Switzerland, Johanna’s research has focussed on optimal designs and analysis methods for the development of Biosimilars and her thesis “Statistical topics in clinical biosimilar development” can be read here.  Throughout her PhD, Johanna has also produced several peer-reviewed publications based on her research, which can be viewed here.

Her supervisor, Byron Jones, said “This remarkable achievement is both a testament to Johanna’s high ability and dedication to her research and to the principles of the IDEAS programme generally”.
